A number of studies have suggested a direct relationship between cannabis use and periodontal disease. The following dental findings may indicate a chronic recreational cannabis user:
Xerostomia
Leukoplakia
Periodontitis
Gingival enlargement/hyperplasia
Alveolar bone loss.
Cannabis smoking is also associated with an increased risk of mouth and neck cancers.
