Comparative Effects of Smoking Marihuana or Placebo on Human Motor and Mental Performance

Key Findings: A double blind study of subjects smoking both a marijuana cigarette and a placebo showed a significant decrement of motor and mental performance associated with marijuana. The study was designed to quantitate “pharmacological” effects on performance and deliberately avoided the intensely subjective phenomenon of the “high”.
